February 14, 2024

6:00 PM                                                    Fellowship Meal

Call to Worship:

L:  God sent Christ into the world not to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through Him.

P:  God's love endures forever.

L:  God is our refuge and strength, a present help in trouble.  Therefore, we will not fear though the earth should change, though the mountains shake in the heart of the sea; though the waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble with its tumult.

P:  God's love endures forever.

Prayer of Confession [unison]

Holy and merciful God, in your presence we confess our sinfulness, our shortcomings, and our offenses against you.  You alone know how often we have sinned in wandering from your ways, in wasting your gifts, in forgetting your love.  Have mercy on us, O Lord, for we are ashamed and sorry for all we have done to displease you.  Forgive our sins, and help us to live in your light, and walk in your ways, for the sake of Jesus Christ our Savior. Amen.

Great Thanksgiving

L:  The Lord be with you

P:  And also with you.

L:  Lift up your hearts.

P:  We lift them to the Lord.

L:  Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.

P:  It is right to give our thanks and praise.

L:  It is truly right........who forever sing to the glory of your name:

P:  Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might, heaven and earth are full of your glory.  Hosanna in the highest.  Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord, Hosanna in the highest.

L:  You are holy..........according to his commandment:

P:  We remember his death, we proclaim his resurrection, we await his coming in glory.

L:  Gracious God.....As our Savior Christ has taught us, we are bold to pray:                                                                                                   P:  Our Father, who art in heaven.........Amen.

Breaking of the Bread

Prayer in Unison:

God of compassion, through Your Son Jesus Christ you reconciled your people to yourself.  Following your example of prayer and fasting, may we obey you with willing hearts and serve one another in holy love; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

P:  And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

L:  Of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end.

P:  He will reign on David's throne and over His kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever.

L:  The zeal of the Lord Almighty will accomplish this.

(Time for Personal Prayer and Reflection)

(Unison)  Holy God, we pray for Your brightness to shine upon our hearts this  evening.  May we know your grace as it appears for us in the birth, life, death and resurrection of Christ Jesus.  Help us to live lives that are joyous and just, Godly and righteous.  As we await the blessed hope of Your glory to shine on our world forever, we come this night to rejoice in the blessed hope of Your glory that already shines in our lives.  Shine on us, dear Child, that we may see You not only in the manger but in our hearts as well!  Amen.
